My partner and I stayed for 10 days we cannot state enough how wonderful it was. Definitely felt like a home from home, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Beautiful view from terrace, relaxing courtyard so peaceful.
Absolutely everything is provided in the home ,and I mean everything!!!!!!!!
The village is stunning like a movie set, everyone speaks to you and are so helpful. There is a great bakery, supermarkets ,local bars and restaurants all in walking distance. There are so many stunning beaches ,villages and towns within an hour to visit.
Also we spent a night in Benidorm which is about an hour away and was €50 for hotel. So had the best of both parts of Spain. The food is amazing all home cooked and lots of places offer a choice of 3 courses and a drink for €12.
The owners Gail and Alan were so kind and helpful, couldn’t do enough for us and great knowledge of this whole area. The perfect holiday will be returning very soon. Thanks again Gail and Alan.

Stayed here for 3 nights during a tour around Spain, and it was excellent. The house is in a quiet street and has everything you would need from a holiday home. The owners, Gail and Alan, have thought of everything and the property is full of lovely, homely touches.
There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space, including a very nice roof terrace. The village / small town has a few shops and supermarkets, and if you don’t feel like cooking there are also a number of restaurants to choose from in the area. Loads to do in the local area, whether you like country walks, historic buildings or going to the beach. Valencia is little more than an hour away.

Gail and Alan’s accommodation was fantastic. We felt very comfortable there and the private outdoor area was a dream. You can have a very relaxed meal outside and spend time there.
The facilities at the AirBnB were very good. We were provided with enough fans to make the Spanish heat bearable. In addition, Everything important was available on site. You can cater for yourself very well in the wonderful kitchen and even barbecue outside.
Alan and Gail were always very helpful, friendly and open. They were always interested in our well-being, responded very quickly to messages and were able to help out directly with any problems. At the end we were personally seen off, which we found very warm.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful accommodation and can only recommend it to anyone and everyone 🙂

This was a fantastic place to stay. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, as well as the things we didn’t know we needed (like a juicer for the wonderful local oranges for example). It was spotlessly clean and everything was in good working order and well maintained. It’s very tastefully furnished and decorated with lots of little touches that make it feel like a home from home. You can see the owners really care about making the property perfect for their guests.
The courtyard is exquisite and the roof terrace is lovely. Great view towards the mountains from up there. We were just disappointed we didn’t get time to use the barbecue (complete with paella pan). We were slightly worried about air conditioning in the heat but the house stayed very cool and after a long day outside in the sun it was great to come home to a comfortable temperature. WiFi is excellent. Gail and Alan were the perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. We really benefited from their local knowledge too.
In terms of the area, you do need a car as the house is in a small village, but it’s very well situated in terms of easy access to things to see and do. Only half an hour to the lovely beach at Oliva, for example and lots of walks close by if you like walking or hiking.
The village itself has a couple of supermarkets as well as a local butcher, baker and fruit shop.
We will definitely be coming back! Big thank you to Gail and Alan.

We have traveled and stayed at VRBO properties throughout Europe and El Buen Ocio was the very best! Gail and Allen were wonderful hosts who always made themselves available for any questions, offered suggestions and a wonderful binder filled with sites to visit ,as well as very enjoyable conversations!
Their house was sparkling clean and beautifully renovated and decorated. There was plenty of hot water and a great shower. The wonderful heaters kept us cozy for the few unexpected cool nights we had. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking our meals and the beautiful patio outback with an awesome view upstairs of the mountains and rooftops was the “cherry on the cake”!
We will be back again next year without a doubt!

Nous avons séjourner au el Bueno de Ocio lors de l’été 2022. Et quel bonheur, la région est magnifique, nous avons visités plusieurs villes et villages notamment des paysages magnifiques. Nous sommes allés à Bolbaite où nous nous sommes baignés entres les cascades d’eaux. Mais que dire de la maison!
Très pratique, très fonctionnel, dans un si magnifique petit village très tranquille. Une sublime terrasse avec du soleil toute la journée, une maison équipée entièrement pour un confort sans précédent. Gail et Alan, nous ont accueillis avec pragmatisme et délicatesse. Tout au long de notre séjour ils nous ont guidés et accompagnés notamment lors d’une sortie ensemble. Ils savent se montrer très discret et très efficace des que l’on ressent le besoin.
Merci à vous deux. Vous êtes au top.

This is a beautiful place to stay. A Spanish house beautifully renovated and adapted. It’s a traditional townhouse but with a great mixture of modern cons and authentic features. The pellet burner ensures a warm and cosy environment.
The kitchen is well equipped, modern but in keeping with the house.
The outside space in the house is exceptional for this type of property. A wonderfully spacious and traditional patio area for cooking , eating and relaxing. Also an upstairs terrace for enjoying the sunset with a beer!
It’s so well situated in a “ Spanish” town close to great bars and restaurants. All in all , “ magical”!

La casa es perfecta. Todo limpio e impecable. Cuando llegamos ya habían encendido la chimenea de pelets y la casa estaba muy calentita. La cocina tiene todo lo que necesitas y más para pasar tus días allí.
El patio y terraza enormes para una casa de pueblo. Vistas de las montañas impresionantes. Todo nuevo y reformado pero manteniendo el espíritu de las casas de pueblo tradicionales.

Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in deze woning, de eigenaren hebben werkelijk aan alles gedacht, zoals voor in de winter een Pellet kachel, radiatoren in iedere slaapkamer, een verwarming op de patio, die heel gezellig is, hoewel de woning in het dorpscentrum ligt is het er heel erg rustig
Het enige waar men rekening mee moet houden is dat de auto niet bij het huis geparkeerd kan worden maar een paar straten verderop.
Voor mij geen probleem want de supermarkt en andere winkels plus restaurants zijn op loopafstand.
Een heel gezellig en met alle gemakken voorzien huis.

We had an amazing 1 week stay in May 2022. The house is big and spacious with a well stocked kitchen. The outdoor space was great for hanging out in the sun during the day and having a drink in the evening. The hosts were very helpful and provided information on local wild swimming spots that were amazing and would have been impossible to find on Google. I’m sure we’ll be back!

Hemos pasado una semana estupenda alojados en una casa arreglada para que todo salga bien. Los huépedes están super disponibles y son muy simpáticos, lo que hace que uno se sienta aún más a gusto.
Castelló es un pueblo que está en un paraje muy bonito y la terraza encima del patio es una ventana al paisaje de lo más agradable . Volver a la casa después de un día de playa, de excursión es un gusto ya que sus diferentes espacios se prestan a la relajación, decorados con gusto y pensados con eficacia.
Recomendamos este lugar que lo tiene todo para poder pasar una excelente estancia en la costa del Levante.

Es war wie ein Urlaub mit der Familie und bei der Familie. Alles ist sehr liebevoll dekoriert und eingerichtet. Es ist wie die eigene Wohnung, nur alles neu und es ist vollständig eingerichtet. Wir haben so viele gute Tipps von unseren Vermietern für Unternehmungen bekommen und konnten garnicht alles in drei Wochen machen.
Zusammengefasst: Es war ein toller Urlaub mit meinen drei Teenagern. Und wichtig für diese Altersgruppe: WLAN ist stark und funktioniert ohne Probleme überall. Also mit ganzem Herzen, beide Daumen nach oben.
Und ich denke, wir sehen uns wieder.

We stayed 7 nights in this lovely roomy house in the quiet village of Castello de Rugat. The house was very comfortable and had all that we needed for our holiday. It was clean and well decorated and on one level. There is a private courtyard with comfortable seating and a lovely terrace which you can reach via the stairs in the courtyard with table and chairs and loungers. The village has a few supermarkets and we were able to get everything we wanted.
The owners, Gail and Alan Spoore, are very friendly and made sure we had all the information we needed as well as having information and maps available in the house. They took us on a walk along a ridge in the hills which we highly recommend if you enjoy hill walking. The beaches nearby are about a 20 minute drive which are lovely and sandy.
We really appreciate all that Gail and Alan did for us to make our visit an enjoyable experience.
